Bug Off Insect Repellent Uninvited insects can really make a vacation unenjoyable. I’ve spent much time in the woods trying to figure out how to manage our presents in a nontoxic way, since we are often the “uninvited” guests. We enter their world. That is not to say we shouldn’t do all we can to prevent confrontation and create boundaries. It is more about the absurdity of elimination tactics like mass spraying that I get "bugged" by. This short term gain is followed by long term environmental and personal devastation that hurts us more than them. Insects have been here for a long time. Gospel Fruit Salad
This is a wonderfully tasting salad that has a great purpose. I made this salad and poem a long time ago when I was a Sunday school teacher. I wanted a real food alternative to the Jellybean Gospel. My heart is that all the children could participate in this fun activity. It reminds me of the comment that many indigenous people have made when they receive a Bible in their own language. "God sees me." Did God see them before they received a translation? Of course He did. That is how they have the translation. But there is some special feeling you get when you are included in a celebration that you haven't been able to participate in before. Someone took the time and effort to insure your inclusion. That is pure love. How do I know this? I have some of those children that have not been able to participate in celebrations. Coconut Butter Fruit Pops
Happy Resurrection Day! We really want to keep it that way. Celebrations can be tricky. Between friends and family that really only wants to bless you and your own desire to have an excuse to eat the things you crave, celebrations can be the most difficult, emotionally charged times of the year at best. At worst, if you have a known health condition that your diet is addressing, you could have a very uncomfortable end to a once wonderful day. Give everyone that will want to buy you or your children a gift a recommendation list or a no-edibles rule. Be understanding and sweet, but firm in your resolution. Don’t expect them to be perfect in their understanding of your issues. That is why it is so important to give specific brands of items. If you receive something that is not on your list, but it seems to have good ingredients, don’t feel bad about double checking.
